Nature Walk

Saturday 07/12/2025 8:30 AM

The next monthly Guided Nature Walk at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park will be held on Saturday, July 12th  beginning at 8:30am.

The July nature walk will be led by Roberta Lyons, a volunteer State Parks Docent and President of Anderson Marsh Interpretive Association. The route taken on the walk will depend on the condition of the trails. The hike should last between 1½ and 2 hours.

Bring binoculars and meet in the parking lot at 8:15am for time to experience the early morning wildlife that can be found in the Ranch House and Barn complex yard – the walk will begin at 8:30am.  Sturdy shoes, a hat and water are also suggested.

There is no charge for the Guided Nature Walk and parking is free for those attending. Dogs are not allowed on the park trails, which pass through a protected Natural Reserve,

In 2025, monthly Guided Nature walks will be held on the second Saturday of each month, except for January and December. The Guided Walks are led by volunteer State Parks Docents and provide an opportunity to observe wildlife at the park and learn about their natural habitat, as well as to learn about the natural and cultural history and geology of the area.

Tours of the interior of the historic Anderson Ranch House have been temporarily suspended while renovation work proceeds on the building.

Dogs are not allowed on the park trails.
